Our Story
Hello, Tampa Bay
I’m Heide Maglott, founder of Cultured Canines of Tampa, and while I may be a dog trainer, my work has never been just about training dogs.
I teach the humans, too.
Because lasting change doesn’t happen when a dog simply learns a few cues. It happens when the people who love that dog understand how to communicate more clearly, recognize what their dog is telling them, and know how to respond in a way that builds trust, confidence, and connection.
With more than 26 years of hands-on experience, I help families create calmer, more connected lives with their dogs through positive reinforcement, clear communication, emotional wellness, and science-based training methods.
My philosophy is simple:
No Pain. No Force. No Fear.
That isn’t just a tagline. It is the standard behind everything I do. My approach focuses on helping dogs learn successfully while giving the humans at the other end of the leash the knowledge, skills, and confidence to better understand and communicate with their dogs.
My journey began in North Central Ohio with a dog walking and pet sitting business. As more and more clients began asking me for help with training and behavior, that work naturally evolved into what became my passion and profession.
Today, Cultured Canines of Tampa brings that experience to families throughout Hillsborough County and the Greater Tampa Bay area.
When I work with a family, my goal isn’t simply to leave you with a better-trained dog. I want to leave you with a better understanding of your dog.
Because When Humans Learn, Dogs Thrive.

AKC CGC Evaluator, AKC Temperament Test Judge, Animal Behavior College Mentor Trainer, and APDT member, with continual education behind every session.
I Teach Both Ends of the Leash
After more than two decades of working with dogs and their people, one thing has become very clear to me: lasting change doesn't happen by focusing on the dog alone.
I want you to understand what your dog is communicating, why certain behaviors may be happening, and what you can do to help.
And while we're teaching new skills, I'm paying just as much attention to your dog's emotional wellness. Because how your dog feels matters to me just as much as what your dog does.
When Humans Learn, Dogs Thrive. ❤️
